IDEATION

The ideation for this piece starts with taking basic geometries. Taking these simple forms we modify some angles to create a simple yet dramatic look for this lamp. As seen in the sketches verticality and volumes play a big role in the conception of the silhouette of the lamp.
From the sketch, a 1/2” scale model was created. During this process, the hardware mechanism was simplified and put under the extension of the mast. In the end, the curved shell was removed from the model but later added on a smaller scale to the final design.
