The sconce can be customized with four different finishes and the client can choose from a variety of stones including travertine, soapstone, and marble.
Orbital takes two cylindrical stones as anchors to a delicate ribbon of light that wraps between them. The fixture is comprised of two metal plantes that are installed into the wall to carry the weight of the stone anchors . Two cylinders carved out of stone host all the electrical components, on a channel a ribbon of glass with an LED strip encased in it wrappes and extends to the second anchor.
The collaboration between designer Alejandro Duran and Una Malan has resulted in the Orbital light fixture, a harmonious blend of Duran's distinct visual language and Malan's timeless sophistication. Inspired by celestial motions, the fixture's concentric circles serve both as a functional light source and a statement piece, reflecting the duo's shared commitment to aesthetics and utility. This partnership showcases the seamless integration of two design philosophies, producing a piece that stands out in any sophisticated collection.
